Under the Carport

My first time at making a round cake. It turned out pretty well. It tastes really good, which is the most important thing, b/c you can't see the chunk that fell off on the other side driving to M-town.
Check out the slober box. I'm glad he got his own cupcake with candles to blow out, b/c I wouldn't want to eat after all of that slober on my cake.
I'm not sure who is Sean and who is Lane. Grandma Moomoo got these Transformer outfits for them. Sean has been wanting that helmet for a long time. It changes your voice and says some stuff. I think the top is Sean and the bottom is Lane, well if I look at the pictures a little closer they are both of Sean b/c I noticed his cast. I'm a genius!

Fall Foliage Festival

Here is Grandma Jean sitting in the cab of Kenny's truck b/c her poor back was hurting her, but she just keeps going on trying to enjoy the parade.
Betty and Wayne are always regulars at the parade for the past 30 years that I know of.
Oh no, a wreak. Everyone stand up and try to see what's happening. The parade was very exciting this year, two motorcycles accidents. That is just unheard of.
Where did this chicken limo come from. You can rent this limo, I wonder if the price is as much as a black limo, surely it couldn't be more. A parade is no longer for floats, but more for advertising and trying to get elected for Mayor.
Debbie in the parade for the hospital.

More Birthday Party!

Grandma Moo Moo, thanks for all of the pictures. She took over 70 pictures for me, otherwise I would probably only have a few due to entertaining.
Phyllis and Peanut, and of course there is Jesse.
Brian's Mom, Nana, and his sister, Beth.
This is Brian's friend and ex-girlfriend, Tammy, whom they went to the prom together when they were juniors. That is her son, Nicholas.
The cook, who makes the sillest faces when he gets his picture taken. Thanks for the good hot dogs and hamburgers and all of my other meals thru the week.

More Birthday Party!

Some of Sean's friends, Christopher and Claire.
Maci and Bella
Sam, who lives down the street from us.
The magician's Mom came who does face painting. I don't ever remember wanting to get my face painted at their age, but maybe they didn't do it way back then, but all of the kids loved it.

Birthday Party!

Here is where the festivites happened. That is the neighbor's dog, Fez who looks like he is posing for the picture. We had hot dogs and hamburgers, chips and a few veggies. And for dessert, cupcakes or smores.

I borrowed this bounce house from a friend. As you can see Sean and Lane loved wrestling inside of it. Lane made me get inside once, I nearly made the thing collaspe, it doesn't do well with much weight. The picture below shows Sean's new waterproof cast in camo. Sean's comment at the orthopedic doctor was "No more bags" b/c I had to put a plastic grocery bag on his arm to take a bath. All the kids really loved this bounce house.

The kids took turns driving our powerwheel jeep around the back yard.

Of course playing on the hay bales.

Broken Arm

Sean fractured is forearm, both bones radius and ulnar, on Sept. 25. We were at a park in Greenwood and he slipped off the monkey bars. He did fine, I have seen a ton a breaks in the ER but somehow it is different being the Mom of your hurt child. I only really broke down and cried once at the hospital after seeing how bad the fracture was. No surgery, just some conscious sedation in the ER to line up the bones again. He picked out his black cast, Brian drew the spider web on the elbow. (Brian states that for men who have this spider web tattooed on their elbow means they are running or hiding from someone or something. Who would of thought that?) I picked out the best tatoo of all, as you can see.

I think as you can tell from the pictures, he is still smiling and being rotten as ever. This morning I caught him climbing the tree in the front yard, so he is still not freightened from heights.

Honey Bee Farm

Did you know there is a Honey Bee Farm in Martinsville? Me either, until Sean's preschool had a field trip there this year. This is our third year at the same school and I was so ready for a change in field trips, this was the best field trip we have ever been on, I was very thankful to the Mom that suggested this place. But then later that week back at the school, I was over hearing some of the Mom's thought their son/daughter was bored. Well, let me tell you something, you have to sit down with your child and interact or else, No they will get bored and not get anything out of the experience. I was glad to know the teacher agreed with me. Ha!

So what we learned. Sean and his friend Christopher talked about the bees for weeks. Male bees, drons, are not much different then human males, lazy bums that sit around waiting for the queen to come and mate with him. Worthless, except to make more females. Everything the bees make and what they take out of the hive, nothing gets wasted, which is really neat to know that nothing is thrown away, either honey is made or bees wax for candles. If you are in Martinsville, I suggest going out and visting this farm. They make really good Black raspberry honey.
